&testo_link1_it=È uno di quei rari pezzi che reggono qualsiasi dimensione: alto o basso, largo o stretto, questo tavolo non perde mai d'identità. Cornice ideale per i tappeti che, sotto questa teca, prendono una luce nuova, può essere un bellissimo tavolo da pranzo o da riunione, un tavolo basso da salotto o una scrivania. È una cornice sospesa, formata da fasce che si rincorrono; vista dall'alto nasconde le gambe in ferro che la sorreggono proprio per lasciare che la trasparenza del vetro sia totale. Questo mobile, oggi considerato un'espressione alta del design italiano, alla sua nascita fu considerato quasi una provocazione perché la cromatura apparteneva allora al mondo dei bagni e delle cucine. Nemmeno il supporto nobile in ottone delle fasce, proprio per conferire al bordo una luce più calda di quella dell'acciaio, sembrava riuscire a riscattare questo quadrante argentato. Si è dovuta aspettare la moda del cromo per riabilitare la lucentezza di un perimetro che "stacca" il piano di vetro. Anche le gambe, formate da quattro angolari di ferro verniciato nero, contribuiscono,
come puntelli strutturali nascosti, a far flottare il piano nello spazio.&

Fasce Cromate is now considered the ultimate in Italian design, however when it was first launched it was highly provocative, as chrome had previously only been used in bathroom and kitchen fixtures. Even though Azucena used noble brass as a core for the chrome-plated frame, to add a touch of warmth that a steel core would have lacked, the chrome-plated table was too modern for the times. When chrome finally came into fashion, Fasce Cromate came into its own as the shiny setting had the effect of throwing the glass into relief. This floating picture frame is composed of successive iron bands. It is constructed in such a way that the legs are concealed from above so that they do not detract from the picture behind the glass. The four angular black powder-coated iron legs culminate in adjustable feet and act as hidden structural supports, creating the impression that the tabletop is poised in space.&
